I had already read the article. Reads like a hit piece to me. Sort of implies Albert knowingly gave him money to buy drugs. I doubt that seriously. The horseplay aspect? Big deal.

Yes, a hit piece, full of innuendo. A perp under indictment often throws this stuff around to deflect from the main issue and make himself look better by comparison,

The Pujols that I followed for many years seemed at times to be the only adult in the room and a leader on and off the field. Now, we’ve all done some stupid stuff when younger, but hopefully survived that phase and became real men and women. Buy drugs? Think of Ron Washington, here, hired and successful as a manager until he burned out.

Hit pieces aren't backed by sworn testimony and videos. If you don't like what the article said about Pujols, OK, but the argument that he's above any criticism because he's your hero is [nonsense].

The video of Kay taking a fastball off the leg was the first video or photographic evidence of Kay participating in these dares. In the video, Pujols is visible, instructing Kay to “Stand like this. Boom, take it like a man.”

If Pujols was paying a junkie to abuse himself in return for money to buy more drugs, that's bad. I don't know if that's true but I can't dismiss it out of hand.
