they list the Cardinals as a possibility for Framber Valdez and Gleyber Torres. I don't really see the need for Torres

Valdez would be great, but the contract will not fit with DeWitt's plan. Torres is not needed.

The stuff that these clickbait sites put out is incredible- as in not credible. If you gathered 100 people that knew anything at all about the Cardinals, how many do you think would agree that the Cardinals would be interested in signing a free agent 2B? Would you get even one to say that? How many would agree that they had interest at this time in signing a free agent pitcher to a multi-year deal at 30M per year, or whatever it ends up being? Like, even a remote interest in these things? But, they print it, we read it, someone posts it, and so on...

Torres and Valdez are not realistic FA targets. I'm unsure what the writer was thinking. But this was MLB.com, not clickbait trash like Redbird Rants or the likely AI-produced slop from 21 year olds that SI publishes.

It always amazes me how CLUELESS these national writers are when it comes to BDWJr.

There is ZERO chance, NONE that he's going after Valdez or Torres or any other free agent that cost over $5M AAV.

Good grief these national writers are morons.

That's fair. We all are wanting relevant baseball content and it is always fun talkin' baseball.

I would think Zac Gallen would be a good fit. I would like to see them sign Valdez but at what cost? Why Torres? Helsley really took a deep dive this past season.

Thanks for your post. The only free agents I can envision the Cards signing this offseason are short term pitching help. A starter or two plus a reliever or two. Bloom has a lot of innings to cover, and he has a dearth of internal options.

Neither of those will be signed by the Cards. Someone like Merrill Kelly on a short term deal, maybe
