For one season. How would that compare to Gray's $35 million? Whatcha' think?

Dude wants a chance to win another ring, no way he is going to at best a 4th place rebuilding team.

My guess, he'll likely sign with the Giants. Apparently, Scherzer and Vitello are very good friends.

How would it compare? I believe it would be approximately $22mm less (before consideration of Gray’s buyout).

Simple comparison, would you rather pay Scherzer 13 M next season or Gray 35 M for the season? Or trade Gray and use the savings, and it would be considerable, toward another starting pitcher like Scherzer. And use the surplus toward another player.

Would rather trade him for Ohtani. He’s only making $2MM next season.

Max is going to a team more ready to win. That isn't StL.

The guy went to Parkway Central HS in the county . He will be 42 years old next July . Maybe for his farewell he and his wife would like to be close to Ted Drewes .

You’re probably right, but he did sign with a last place team in a tougher division this past offseason.
Maybe he’d come to STL if he knew of all the good food specials you recommend LOL!

For a guy that couldn't make it to the 5th inning against the Dodgers, I think I'd pass. He's getting a little long in the tooth.

A couple years ago the team brought in Pujols Lynn Gibson for internal leadership issues. If operating under the same premise, bringing Max in for a year with a young emerging staff at that price isn’t the worst idea.

Sure. He could teach the young pitchers how to yell at, and curse out the manager when he dares to come out to the mound on national tv. I'm sure there is an art to it.

That too. But you got my point. I don’t think it would hurt a team trying to recover or emerge into a league relevant team.

85 innings for $13 million.
No. The time to sign him has long since expired.

I would love to see Max come back home for his final season if S. Gray is dealt.
BDWJr has stated not signing Max the first time he hit free agency and wanted to come back to St. Louis was the biggest mistake of his ownership career.
Bring my Mizzou man back home Bill!
