Say what you will but he has the champion mindset. Mo utterly wasted the asset we got in return for him. They weren't going to compete in 2025, so why risk getting nothing for Fedde? They could sign a scrub to eat innings, but Fedde still had value.

Yet another overrated ex-Cardinals player. He’s averaged 1 WAR and 67 games per season for the Dodgers, with a sub-100 OPS+ and terrible numbers against right-handed pitching. The Dodgers will be paying him about $12m per season until 2030, when they’ll have to pay him another $3m to buy out his option.

I like Edman as a utility bench player, he's just not a starter. For one, he stays hurt too much. He probably should be a platoon player at most.

Edman is a great compliment piece on a stacked team.

Thrilled for Edman
Expect to see him with one for the Thumb before all is said and done. Provided he stays with the Dodgers.
Sometimes good things do happen to good people!!!
He was the only Card his last few years with us that I would gladly pay money to see play The Game of Baseball.

Edman is a gamer. He is a lot like Brendan Donovan, who the Cardinals will likely trade away this winter. I hope Bloom can get a better return than Mo got for Edman.

Citing his average games per season with the Dodgers when this was his first full season with the Dodgers is one of the worst critiques and abuses of math I’ve seen on this site

Agree to all. Love Edman, but .280 OBP is unacceptable

Is he? In 2024, he wasn't playing full games in his rehab assignment for a reported injury. As soon as he's traded to LA, he's healthy enough to finish the season strong. That seemed very fishy to me.

I'm interested to see what he looks like after a healthy offseason. He played the majority of this season hurt. He was excellent before his first injury - .818 OPS. He posted a .596 OPS in 56 games before he went on the IL again, and then a .501 OPS in the last 11 games to close the season upon his return.

Yes, hopefully he can remain healthy next season.
