Massive save of the Dodgers season last night. If they pull off game 7 you have to give it to him.
If TO wins, who will be the hero?

That play with Barger to end the game was just... ugh... but yeah Yamamoto really did his thing. I mean Toronto also played their part by keeping that Dodger lead right where it was for the whole game, after the 3-spot LA put up. Toronto also continued to create opportunities to score, but credit Yamamoto for drawing several key double plays. What a frustrating way for the game to end, with Springer on deck. There was a chance for a very exciting at-bat there, regardless of whether Springer would have homered or made an out.

If Ohtani hits a bases loaded grand slam in top of the 9th for Dodgers to take the lead going into the bottom of the 9th , then they flip the MVP to Ohtani ? I think so .

IMO the front-runner at this point, but let's wait to see what happens tonight.
I'm curious why Roberts didn't send him out to pitch in the 7th last night. I realize he struggled in the 6th, but he was only at 90 pitches iirc and it's not like the bullpen is packed with options. I see the Dodgers have said Yama isn't available today. I wonder if he's not feeling 100%.

Both starters pitched 6 innings, 90 plus pitches, last night. Hard to believe either one would pitch today.
But everyone else will be on call. (Sasaki as well?)

Without Yamamoto they may not even be this deep into the playoffs. Looking at their pitching and he dominates all of their pitching stats. How lucky they are that he fell into their lap. We need one of those to fall into the Cards laps.

If Jays win tonight and he's the hero, then it's Vlad, Jr (2 HR/.360 .500 .640 1.140) going into to Game 7.
or
A. Barger (.476 .500 .714 1.214) w/a big Game 7.

If the Dodgers win, the MVP should be awarded collectively to the Toronto base runners in the series.

I think for this series a great case can be made for Vlad Jr. being the best player in this series. Not only did he hit a ton but he made several spectacular plalys at 1st base .. diving stops, that throw from 1st to 3rd nailing runner.
Unfortunately , we have been trained that the MVP of any game or series MUST be someone from the 'winning team . I once asked a guy about that . He told me it ALWAYS is a player from the winning team . ( I was waiting for that comment ) I quickly replied , Oh no ! I remember a Super Bowl football game where the game MVP was from the losing team .
He asked , Who the H was that and what game ? I don't believe you .
I said Well it was Chuck Howley LB for the Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl V (5) vs. the Baltimore Colts . Cowboys lost 16-13 1971 was the year and I was 23 years old . Always remembered that .
Howley was selected MVP for intercepting 2 passes and making 1 fumble recovery . He was the MVP .
