How long will the last if the team can't win on a consistent basis?

I can’t see it being all that long if they go sideways fast. If they can remain 500 ish I think he’s golden.
Off the rails early gone
Imho

It appears that Bloom and Oli are on the same page as Bloom seemed to allude to that in various interviews of him getting to know Oli the past year.
In sports though, if things head south for a team the saying is 'you can't fire all the players so you fire the coach ! That's NFL, MLB whatever pro sport. The head guy takes the hit.
While I am unsure of the 'leash' length , I don't have any feel if Bloom would pull the plug on Oli during the season. He could just ride things out and bring in someone new when Oli's contract expires after this season.
If Bloom gets the trades done he wishes, he realizes that he is taking 3 veteran players off Oli's 2026 team.. the best defensive 3rd baseman , arguably the team's best pitcher , and WillyCon one of the leading hitters. Depending on what guys replace those three, it puts any manager in a tough spot losing that experience.

Sept. 28th , the day after the final game in Milwaukee. One thing is that Oli would not be 'fired' . His contract will have expired and the story would be Marmol not being renewed by Cardinals
A few vet managers have taken roles as an advisor for the team but the thought occurred to me that with Marmol's Hispanic heritage . Both parents from Dominican Republic ..Oli fluent in Spanish that he could be a huge asset on the international scene for the Cardinals. Moises Rodriguez is on a one-year contract as head of International scouting for this year. Wonder if Bloom would want Oli in a similar role for 2027 and beyond (that is if Oli does not think he would get another manager's job ) ?
Maybe Oli could find the next Jackson Chourio type kid for the Cardinals !

The club does not have a bad manager problem..
The have a bad roster problem
Expectations are very low and who could replace marmol during the season?
Another organization guy..?. Yeah, that’s a great idea..
Your thoughts about his potential role after his managerial contract expires are profound…

Unfortunately he'll last all season since BDWJr has made it clear this is a throw-a-way season in his mind and he's only interested in shedding more payroll.
Once the new CBA is in place, C. Bloom can then hire his Manager.

If the team starts to tailspin, Bloom will make a change. Anytime after mid May.
By tailspin, I mean lose like 10-11 in a row.

I don’t think his leash will be determined solely on wins or losses. As long as Bloom is comfortable with how the coaching staff is developing players (keep in mind players share in this also) and the team morale and attitude stay positive, Oli is golden for this season.
This could all change if Bloom puts a playoff caliber team on the field but that’s doubtful.

Good points, Jatalk ! Bloom will be observing first hand how things are going in the clubhouse ... as you said team morale, attitude, positive vibes , etc. Fans are never privy to those interactiaons but GM's /POBO sure see it . When a team loses a few games in a row, typical fan reactions often is 'the players have quit on the manager' , 'the players don't respect Oli' , etc. They have no basis other to say that as they are frustrated by the losses. Bloom will know if any of the above things are true or not.

More times than not, a team firing a manger in-season often go to the bench coach as the replacement. So 'Scals' Daniel DeScalso would probably get the gig .

Look at when managers are fired mid season and what usually happens…
