"Gorman is young enough and has enough upside that there is likely a team out there that can convince itself to roll the dice on him".

With Noot's trade value at it's all time low due to the surgery.

Bloom's going to have to move at least one (or two) of the other left handed bats and wait for Noot to re-hab his trade value hopefully by midseason.

That makes Norman, Donny and Burleson the likely players to get dealt.

Bloom likes players w/Bumbles hitting profile so doubt he'd go (unless a team really wants him and offers something strong).

Norman wouldn't fetch much straight up, perhaps if bundled w/?????

It's been my opinion Donny is Bloom's best trade chip and would bring back a near major league ready prospect or even a #3/4 major league starting pitcher w/control.

He's Bloom's best chip.

There were even some local reports the Dodgers called about him mid season, Yankees too.

Sooooo glad Mo didn't make the trade and kept him for Bloom to deal.

He's got a strong trade market and is about to make some real money that goes against BDWJr's desire to slash payroll.

My bet is he goes.

Trading Arenado, Donovan and Gorman only makes sense if Bloom feels both Wetherholt and Saggese are ready at 2B and 3B. Unless Bloom can get a power bat for 3B by trade or FA.

Derrick Goold in Post chat was asked about JJ for 2026 season. Goold said if JJ plays well in spring training , he makes the team and starts in the lineup on opening day . Take it for what it's worth from the main Cardinal beat writer .

You can't believe contending teams inquired about Gorman. What would he do for LA ? Batboy? Gorman has no value to team trying to win. He is a five tool dud. He is not good at any baseball related skill. We can only hope he goes.

I don't see him trading both Donny and Norman (but pretty sure he'll do his best to move NADO).

If NADO and Donny are both dealt, then Gorman will be the OD 3rd baseman.

If NADO and Gorman are dealt, then Donny likely stays and is at 3rd base (mistake IMO as Donny is Bloom's best shot at landing a quality prospect or even a starter w/years of control).

JJW will be at 2nd base.

Saggese isn't an everyday player, nothing more than a back of the bench utility player.

+1 he’s a one tool player who doesn’t hit well enough to make that one tool useful

He misunderstood

At that point we were referring to Donny being Bloom's best trade chip.

In no way, shape or form would Gorman be his best trade chip.

Some teams would likely pounce on the opportunity to get the 23 year old, versatile Saggese. Some that have been paying close attention to his minor leagues production. But he ain't going anywhere with the current Cardinals 3B/2B situation up in the air. Unless, he's demanded in a deal to get a front line starting pichter.

Few players are considered “untouchable”.
Most trades result from the proposed return.
Not the result of wanting to get rid of someone.
I like Saggese but I think some are over valuing him at the moment.
Probably a versatile backup?

I would think Nado is who they want to trade the most due to his contract. If Bloom is able to get that done then Gorman is the starting 3B.

2nd player they would like to trade is Donovan. He probably brings the most back in a trade. Whether that’s a prospect for the future or pitching that can pitch now or a combination of both.

If Nado and or Donovan aren’t moved then maybe Gorman is traded.

Noot not much trade value.

Burly is our best hitting OF and is cheap so it would be difficult to justify trading him.

Jmo, it will be an interesting off season.
