Not sure what McEwing provided. Bloom needs to continue cleaning. John Mozeliak left quite a mess.

Do you think McEwing was a bigger problem than Marmol?

I don't think so. Im not even sure what McEwing did. I will give Marmol a chance to prove himself without Mozeliak being in the picture.

I'm curious if Joe McEwing is interested in some of the managerial openings. I know he has been interviewed in the past for other job opportunities. Maybe he sees this as another chance with several jobs available?

If Marmol was a big problem, he’d be gone by now.

So GIrsch. Marmot, coaching staff, et al are still in place BUT McEwing is given the curb.

Fans need SOMETHING from organization to reconnect. Firing McEwing is so lame.

What did McEwing do?

How did you think he earned his paycheck?

Clearly ole Joe was responsible for the poor offense, poor pitching, poor baserunning, poor catching, poor BP, poor managing, and all around poor losing attitude…..glad they got to the source of all the problems!!!

Ordinarily wins and losses determine how good a manager is. Was the roster that bad two of the last three seasons?

Pythagorean….

2023:
Cards record: 71-91
Pyth: 71-91
2024
CR: 83-79
P: 76-86
2025:
CR: 78-84
P: 74-88

The last two seasons, the cards have overachieved.

You really think the the 2025 team was good. They weren’t great in 2024, lost two pitchers, gained only Maton

The 2025 team was 6 games under .500 and 19 games out of first place. The question regarding Marmol is what role he played in the failure. Given that Matheny was fired after never having a losing season tells me ownership has lowered standards.

Joe McEwing is out.
The first move of the Bloom era was keeping Marmol. That much should be clear, right?

I find religious faith fascinating.

This is slightly less surprising than the morning sunrise.
