Did Contreras hint that he might consider waiving his NTC?

If so, couldn't he, possibly, bring back a needed decent starting pitcher?

Is there a Link or is this more made up nonsense?
I'm leaning toward the latter because you always overvalue every player and their possible return. I applaud you for your restraint this time....you only expect one decent starting pitcher in return...instead of the customary 2 Front of the rotation starters.

I thought that was brought out a few weeks ago from statements he made.
Trade value? I’m not able to comment but freeing up his contract $’s and opening up position on the infield are worth a lot.
He is one of my favorites and I hate to see him go. But he deserves a better opportunity.

“If something comes up to [president of baseball operations Chaim Bloom] that makes a lot of sense for him and the organization, and it makes sense for me and my future, how about we talk about that?” Contreras said. “But as of right now, I would just like to be part of the [rebuilding] process.”
Sorry shady but he's going to be the starting 1st baseman (and blocking you-know-who) unless Bloom is overwhelmed a/an offer.

As usual, the forum was noticeably better while you were gone last week.

I sort of read the statement differently. Appears door is more open than earlier in season.

Per BTV:
Willson Contreras: -11.9
Please name some specific “decent starting pitchers” the Cardinals could obtain for the remainder of Contreras’s contract.

If WC is traded, the play should one of two things:
1. Getting the best prospect/young player possible.
2. Vet starting pitcher who can cover innings.

"Vet starting pitcher who can cover innings". A veteran pitcher at close to Contreras' salary makes sense. That might bring a #3 type starting pitcher. It's about finding matching needs.

I think he'd "listen" but doesn't seem like he's itching to get out like NADO.

Wonder if Shady would accept Snell and Yamamoto plus a player to be named later

Seems low doesn't it?
Especially if a team see's him as a 1B/C.
