Does anyone know what exactly has caused his late season uptick in K's? He was looking like a future back of the rotation innings eater ceiling but something changed and he unlocked some dominance.

I watched Lin Chen pitch a number of times this season and what I saw was a pitcher with good stuff and a confident presence on the mound, until the opposing hitter made contact. Then he would start to fret and waiver, and nibble. Tons of walks, his control fell off a cliff.
I believe in this player as a potential 1 or 2 and perceive that his biggest problem is between his ears.
Lin did miss a number of starts in mid-July through August and when he came back his innings were limited, but not his walks. Control, and from what I could see, it was that he doesn't want anyone to make contact. He will have to learn to live with some contact, some hits against him, cut down on the long counts and grow in confidence.
I am excited to see where he starts next April, as well as how he starts. I hope Bloom has him with a top rate instructor.

Spot on and he’s not the only one. Recent write up in the Post about Brycen Mautz and how this new regime turned him around.

Did it? What I read was Mautz did it himself.
"Anderson said Mautz deserves the credit for his determination to better himself during the last offseason. Anderson said he did a double-take when Mautz pitched for the first time in spring training and took notice of the results."

I've also heard C. Bloom is in the process of adding even more minor league instructors!
Great news for all the kids in the system.
Maybe they can even fix J. Walker if he starts at AAA where he belongs (not sure where N. Gorman starts, all depends on what Bloom does
w/NADO and Donny).

Yes it did. But by all means, it has to be a coincidence that he figured it out himself and the new Bloom regime arrived same time.

Walker has to want to be fixed. Sounds like he’s a stubborn blockhead.

Thank you.
The thought that everything and everyone was a zero and now
everything is a 10 after canges in the last 12 months seems simple.

Needed that buy in period.
His old way after all got him to a level and the new way didn't get immediate results.
This is a one reason to go with a coach that brings a cache when dealing with a very young group.
Holliday, others, don't get asked "who are you"? JMO.

So why couldn’t those same coaches and managers get those results from him before this year? Cut his WIP from 1.45 in 2024 to 1.10 in 2025. Did all of those guys suddenly “figure something out?” Answer, he!! no.
Nice try little man.
