Albert Pujols

I think the Cards should fire Marmol and hire Pujols as manager! Then see if Yadi would take the pitching coach position.

This team needs an experienced manager who can form a culture of winning and accountability.

Pujols wouldn't be a good fit right now.

There will be much more experienced, veteran managers available this winter…

The old man is weak, his strength comes from him. A smile full of youth, and a gleam in his eye.

His garden is green, it seems over flowing. But his dreams await, in his rocking chair sky.

Doobies.

Unfortunately, I don’t think the timing is right.

Perhaps I'm in the minority opinion here, but I think Pujols is perfect.
The Cardinals don't need a guy with experience as a manager, but they need a guy who knows baseball and can inspire players to get the best out of themselves.
Pujols knows baseball and the Cardinals can get coaches that can help support Pujols on the day-to-day.
Also, the Cardinals are not gunning for a WS in 2026. This isn't a bad time to hire Pujols and let him build the culture and be ready to manage in the future when the expectations are higher.
He also speaks English & Spanish fluently. Some guys only speak a little English or a little Spanish. I think being truly bilingual helps.

Why not? Cards have a (bleep) manager. Pujols is available. Seems like the right time to me!

So other experienced, successful managers don’t know how to “inspire” players?

One wonders how they were successful..

Albert will probably manage the Cardinals some day. Why not let him make mistakes and learn from them with another team? I get that the expectations in 2026 are low anyway but I see no rush to bring him in if he's wanting to manager a winner. Baltimore may give him a shot at that as they are a talented and under performing team. I can't imagine anyone in their right mind wanting to take the Angels job.

I do think with the Angels it's more about Albert interviewing them, rather than the Angels interviewing Albert.

Like it or not, Bloom has already said Marmol will be the manager in 2026.
