Going to be a battle between Allen & Winn.
If love see Pham win it. He isn’t going against a Cardinals so why not.WaltsSuccessor wrote: ↑15 Oct 2025 14:15 pm Both very deserving.
Winn should win the award for sure, but CF most certainly will go to PCA.
Sidenote: Old man Pham as a finalist in LF!?! That surprised me.
Thanks Rock. Actually think Betts has a good chance too as he leads all the Fielding Bible stats like DRS among others. Really curious how a player like Betts can fair so well in DRS and poorly in the others while Winn is the inverse.rockondlouie wrote: ↑15 Oct 2025 14:39 pmGoing to be a battle between Allen & Winn.
N. Allen/+12 DRS
M. Winn/+2 DRS
But
M. Winn/+21 OAA
N. Allen/+17 OAA
M. Winn/3 errors
N. Allen/5 errors
And
The late August SABR Defensive Index
M. Winn/N. Allen tied at #1 with a 6.4 SDI
PCA definitely leads all center fielders on going back jumping up crashing into the wall and crumpling to the ground on a homerun that was 30 feet over his gloveWaltsSuccessor wrote: ↑15 Oct 2025 14:15 pm Both very deserving.

JMO walt but I'd rank Betts a distant 3rd behind those two even though I did see his top DRS position.WaltsSuccessor wrote: ↑15 Oct 2025 15:06 pmThanks Rock. He wasn't good enough to win his last one. Ke Bryan Hayes is the GG for the past yearsstlbirdlover wrote: ↑15 Oct 2025 19:13 pm I thought Arenado was very good this year at 3B. I wonder if he played enough games to qualify?

I would think so too. But his top ranking in DRS and other Fielding Bible stats along with the narrative of GG RF turned SS at 32 years old while playing on the Dodgers gives me pause. Wouldn't be the first time a GG was awarded on narrative over substance (Jeter).rockondlouie wrote: ↑16 Oct 2025 08:11 amJMO walt but I'd rank Betts a distant 3rd behind those two even though I did see his top DRS position.WaltsSuccessor wrote: ↑15 Oct 2025 15:06 pmThanks Rock. Honestly I was shocked to see Betts' DRS total.WaltsSuccessor wrote: ↑16 Oct 2025 10:06 amI would think so too. Surprisingly, Betts was a pretty mediocre hitter this year relative to his career. Probably from the weight loss from that extended illness early in the year but perhaps the demands of SS contributed too. If we was his normal silver slugger self, then he'd probably be a slam dunk regardless what the metrics said.
