Don't you? He gets hit and the game is tied. Instead he performs gymnastics getting out of the way and then strikes out on one up out of the zone. What a horrible at bat. Dodgers get a leg up.

Roger Dorn would’ve made it happen.

I’m pretty sure it was instinct to get out of the way he didn’t have time to think about probably

Natural reaction to not get hit by a pitch..

Natural reaction to move. 95% of players do the same there. What was worse was swinging at a pitch above the letters to end the game. What a putz.

In that moment, with the game on the line, you take that pitch as long as it isn't at your head. It's just not a smart player. Then he strikes out on a pitch up and out of the strike zone. Just not a smart player. End of story.

Yeah, I'm sure it's a natural instinct and all, but smart players run through that before hand so they don't rely on natural instinct and become a goat. That has to be part of your thought process before you even go to the plate.

Pure survival instincts took over.

If you've ever been hit by a 90+ mph fastball (it hurts like hell), then you get out of the way if you can.

Sure he should've "taken one for the team" but it's only human nature to flinch.

Plus, the pitch was a slider not a fastball. Out of the pitcher's hand, he's thinking fastball middle-in, whoops, offspeed, oh sheeet! Fractions of seconds. Men not machines.

And isn’t it a rule you have to try to avoid the pitch?

wouldn't have even mattered if the Brew Crew didn't get so lucky earlier in the game with the bases juiced!

The Brewers gave up a run in the top of the ninth with a walk, single, walk, walk sequence. That also cost them the game.
