5-1 Tough Loss-Learn From It
They still control their destiny. 27-24 against Bama is nothing to be ashamed of. Watch the film, look in the mirror, and learn from it.
Yes the game was winnable. But that’s in the rear view now. Time to prep for next week.

SICK of moral victories and coming up short in big games.
BUT completely agree. If the nation wanted to see if we’re for real and “belong” I guess this answered that. Other than TOP this game couldn’t have been any more evenly matched. We didn’t embarrass ourselves. Learn and regroup.

At some point you need to win the big games or you are just doing a lot of looking into the mirror. I think they stat they showed said Drink is now 0-7 against top 10 teams. Missouri had the better players on the field this game which is not normally the case against Bama. We should have won with better coaching and QB play.

Yeah, we could be Florida State losing at home to Pitt.
And Ole (bleep) won by 3 at home over mighty Wash. St.

Nothing to be ashamed of but I would believe MU should already know you can't turn the ball over and commit a stupid mental error like taunting when every official under the sun has been told to crack down on it.Basil Shabazz wrote: ↑11 Oct 2025 14:56 pm They still control their destiny. 27-24 against Bama is nothing to be ashamed of. The main thing coming out of this is a repeat lesson how to lose in big games, again.

Learn from it lol?? It's the same [censored] [shirt] every year. Sick of it.

The reality, we should have won that game despite the bad targeting and silly unsportsman like penalty. Drink and company had 2 weeks to prepare and got away from the game plan it seems....and we couldn't convert on 3rd down either.. we all know Mizzou is better than this. Despite having a raw QB and mistakes, the coaching just has to be better...and by better I mean grow a pair and attack rather than dink and donk increment every game. Need to learn to play wide open..
The players want that. Coaches too scared. How many times have we seen Beau drop a dime of a throw this year? Weve seennit on more than onc occasion. Kid can throw, just needs a confidence builder. Get the kid ready, Drink! And get the protection for the kid a little better, they aren't that far off. After a while in that game, Bama knew the passing game was suffering, so they looked for Hardy...and they stopped him. Pack the line and stop Hardy! Such bad coaching from Drink and company. Need our passer ready Drink!

Drink still looking for that "signature" win. And no I don't count the Ohio State win because they were missing a big chunk of their team in addition to the fact that they really didn't want to be there.
Re: 5-1 Tough Loss-Learn From It
two weeks to prepare and looked like they hadn't looked at any tape. Kirby putzed this one getting away from what they do best way too soon and I have been praising him. IF they stack the box you go over them. means there will be big gaps between them and the secondary where Beau has been his most accurate. If they do this you do that. football is not really that complicated and this is a good not great d. even had two of their rotation DL out of the game.
They pure stupidity of Zion a senior captain doing that is beyond belief truly. needs to be stripped of his captaincy at least and not start next game.
I've been pointing to this game on here since they announced the schedule saying THIS was the game that mattered IF you want to move up to the top level in SEC. instead they did the most MU thing ever and didn't get it done tho a respectable showing.
all is not lost but they have a very tough road ahead of them with two tough games next two week when they finally away from home. AU is playing GA very tough tonight and got screwed out of a TD, again by incompetent officials and after dominating first half dawgs got their usual second wind for second half. then rest of schedule will be tough. Even AR with little D has a great offense and almost knocked off TN in rocky top.
we shall see how rest of season goes but this one hurts a lot.

since we have now learned how to lose ... I think we use this new learned skill at least 2 more times this season!

There's nothing else to learn. It's the same [censored] [shirt] every year.

What was frustrating for me was I felt Mizzou gave the game away. We passed way to often when we should have ran the ball. We also made critical mental errors (taunting on Alabama’s first possession was inexcusable). Not being able to stop them on a third and 24?
Auburn, Vanderbilt, aTm, Oklahoma - heck those are alm 50/50 games at best.

Arkansas is playing better as well - I see at least 2 more loses in our future and maybe a pop tart bowl game against Illinois in our future!acco40 wrote: ↑13 Oct 2025 03:40 am What was frustrating for me was I felt Mizzou gave the game away.
