I don’t mind it in the regular season glad they don’t use it during post season though

Who missed the extra inning automatic runner rule?
It is a dumb rule in my opinion and takes away from the excitement of what little is left in baseball.

Very interesting and important comment: ""the excitement of what little is left in baseball".
Would the game last night have been an instant classic with the automatic runner rule?
Would fans of both teams remember for the next many years sitting up until the wee hours watching a tense battle, with pitchers and defenders making one key play after another in a battle to advance to the next round?

regular season, I'm OK with it...maybe make it after the 10th inning
Post season, just fine without it.

I bet the players love it. Saves some ugly bull[shirt] in an already overly long regular season.

Not like they're digging ditches in 100 degree weather for $25/hour and the season isn't overly long either.
But you're right, I bet the players do love it.
Needs to be gone.

I dont like the rule, but in last night's game it seemed that both teams had a runner on second with no outs every inning anyways. Good pitching and defense kepth both teams from scoring.
Was definitely a classic series deciding game. Fun game.

I did not miss it last night, and I have never liked it. It should be removed from the regular season, or at least revised.

I’ll offer a compromise.
During the regular season, play the 10-12 innings straight (about an hour of additional game time), then apply the “runner on 2nd” feature starting the 13th.

Owners love it even more, I suspect.
Protects pitchers - which is a huge cost center.
Reduces / controls stadium operating costs.
Stupid rule which creates an inferior product.
Players and owners don't care about the product - just themselves.

I don't see the product suffering by implementing it for the regular season.
