Lin, just like his starts this season....averages 30 pitches an inning.... 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 4 K....control issues in 2025 spilled over into the AFL. If he can hone the control, he's a danger as a starter.
I doubt he'll be back for the 3rd inning
------------
with Tarlow catching and no Cardinal reliever has made an appearance this week, I expect we will see Saladin, Carpenter and Clemente today....maybe Bradt, too.

tough decision coming for the Cards with Clemente...they're advertising him in the AFL, that's how I perceive it. He needs to be protected later in November to avoid possibly be selected in the AAA portion of the Rule 5 draft. I think he's gone if he's not protected, which I don't think the Cards can do...they have a LOT of players in need of protecting...Clemente will likely be lost in the sauce or traded. I think they're hoping for the trade...thus his reason for being in the AFL. Good strong, BP stuff...some control concerns that got better from last year, but last year they were the bottom of the barrel...still a work in progress. But not worth protecting

Glendale's relievers have been complete (bleep)...last night they gave up 10 runs and a HUGE lead, today Braves' farm hand is starting to stink it up in the 3rd inning...6 run lead for the Dogs...being trimmed to 5 runs, and maybe shrinking.
Again, no Cardinal reliever has participated in the AFL...4 on the team

Darlin Saladin pitched the 4th.....2 Walks, no hits, no runs.
Miguel Ugueto picked up his 4th RBI of the day? So far the Official Scorer isn't giving him an RBI on his single...misplayed by the LF.
2 for 3 today... HR, Single, 3 RBI....maybe 4 RBI if the OS is little more friendly?

RHP Tyler Bradt relieves Saladin.
can he keep the Cards scoreless streak going? at 4 IP with the combo of Lin and Saladin today.

it wouldn't be a Cardinal reliever appearance without at least 2 walks...Bradt has 2 walks...1 out
edit ~ 3 walks now...matches Lin....walks them loaded....1 out

big K for the 2nd out....that's his makeup this year....walk his share, but K more that 1 an inning....tale as old as time...good stuff, needs to hone in the control
25 pitches so far, 10 strikes....2 outs, Loaded bases

escapes with a simple ground out to 2B.
Cards pitching today .... 5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 8 BB, 8 K, 2 WP....at least they've kept the opposing team off the scoring column. Better than the other 5 farm teams on the Glendale squad.
