It took a miracle for him to escape the 7th inning

Roberts is an idiot for letting him start the 8th with the game still in reach only to get shelled.

No. It will be about 4.63. 4 runs in 2 IP wouldn’t have that much of an impact with nearly 200 IP postseason.

Yeah, but most of the rest of that pen is shiite on a shingle.

He's Oliesque.
Might have been let go without the 2020 randomness.

He’s a HOF no doubt

He’s been very below average in post season

He gave up 6 hits in 2 innings tonight, throwing 89 and hanging sliders like Ryan Fernandez

32 post season home runs given up

The Cardinals broke Playoff C. Kershaw, he never got back the regular season aura that will make him a 1st ballot HofFer in five years.

Absolutely correct, Icon! The other day, one of the national sports talk programs on Sirius XM was talking about the Dodgers bad bullpen and how all the Phillies need to do is stay close in the first 5-6 innings then feast on the bullpen.

Hiya Rocko!

I still occasionally replay that Big City Adams HR off Kershaw to make me feel better and forget the current pack of losers wearing the Birds on the Bat.

That said, Kershaw’s overall stats are fantastic and measure up really well against great pitchers like Koufax, Gibson, Seaver, et al. What’s really impressive is that Kershaw had the handicaps of smaller strike zone, lower mound, punishment for brushback pitches, and general promotion of hitting over pitching compared to the pitcher-friendly era of those guys.

So Kershaw is one of the all time greats.

I must admit that I haven’t looked up his postseason record vs. other teams. I know the Cards are his Kryptonite.

Has Roberts ever had to manage LA w/o a top 5 (if not top 3) payroll? I'd like to see him deal with a mid-tier roster and take odds on how long he'd last.

Kershaw is toast. His appearing period was all about optics. His legacy will be tarnished if he continues. Retire

Roberts is nothing more than a mouthpiece. The Dodgers run the game through analytics. Roberts' biggest duty is keeping a harmonious clubhouse. Easier to do when winning.

How ya' been Hawk'?

Kerhaw is indeed one of the all time great pitchers, slam dunk 1st ballot Hall of Famer in five years.

But it's that lack of playoff success that separates Gibby & Koufax.

Gibby (all World Series starts):

9 GS
81 IP
1.89 ERA 8O

Koufax (all World Series starts)

7 GS/8 G
57 IP
0.95 ERA 8O

Kerhsaw (playoff + World Series starts)

32 GS/40 G
196.1 IP
4.63 ERA

Kinda of shocked that Roberts hung him out to dry

It not for a runner thrown out at plate, a miraculous 7th inning escape, and the last batter driving one to wall in center, he could have easily given up 7 or 8 runs last night

Roberts just sat there and let him take the beating

Probably last we see of him

Kershaw’s postseason K/9 is higher than that of Koufax, Seaver, Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez & Justin Verlander.
