Schumaker hired as the Rangers' manager

in addition to Pujols for the Angels. Both would have likely taken the Cardinals job had it opened and they were offered. Deciding to keep Marmol is Bloom's first "measuring stick" as a decision-maker. Welcome to the scrutiny Chaim. Maybe this will help motivate Bloom to make some serious personnel moves to help validate his decision to keep Marmol.

Good for Schu. There's a lot of reasons to like the Rangers, and this is another one.

6 edits and your post is still a steaming pile of non sequiturs and incoherent nonsense.

Good hire.
Was hoping he’d wind up with us!

You could see this coming the second they hired him last year.

My pure guess is that Dewitt made Bloom keep Oli, for the duration of his contract. Why? Who knows, annd it doesn’t really matter, just another dumb decision and we’re used to that at this point. But my guess is that Varitek is and will be Blooms first choice and that Yadi is and will be Bills. So if Yadi doesn’t follow Albert to LA it will be Yadi as our next manager if/when that time comes.

Pujols hasn't been made Angels manager yet

I guess speculation is what these chat boards are for. I think if the Cardinals wanted Skip they would have hired Skip. So don't lament over his loss. For those wanting Pujols or Molina, not hiring them is a good thing. And no way imo was oli forced on Bloom. For those paying attention, everything points to Marmol and Bloom having a good working relationship. Everything points to the players and coaches having a good working relationship with him. I don't see any reason to deal with the turnover of the manager and coaching staff right now. Neither does Bloom.

They were above .500 nine games. They finished 6 under. Most of that happened after the deadline, and four games to end season.

We say this team has no star power. Yet they survive at the break even line. Something holds what little together.

I will be interested in seeing Marmol operate under the guidance of someone other than Mo. What the roster looks like on opening day will obviously have a lot to do with the wl record. But will the team fundamentally be better?

Exactly. Will they be fundamentally better. That’s a must from this manager.

He inherits a pretty good ballclub. since clubs usually reflect on the character of their manager, they may display his inherent hustle, good nature, and baseball smarts

Great opportunity for Schu.

Oil and fundamentals don’t go together. He’s had his shot for several years now. How much more of Oli-ball do you want to see?
