What’s a reason to watch Cardinals next season?

After 3 years of futility, low entertainment, losing, excuse making baseball why should Cards fans tune in next season when it appears it’ll be another year of the same?
Oli and Dusty are back
Only new talent who might be ready is JJ
No signing of new talent
Not a word yesterday to inspire ANY hope of things better next season.

I can't speak for everybody, and I understand what I'm about to say isn't necessarily a draw for many.

But I'm excited to see who emerges. Who are the next guys? We're likely going to see Weatherholt play a lot. He's the real deal.

I think part of the reason why this year felt like an extra slog, was the makeup of the team. Mikolas and Fedde pitched a meaningful amount of innings. A clearly diminished Arenado got a lot of playing time. And they all struggled. Despite bringing in some youth, we felt like an old team. And to Mikolas, Fedde, and Pallante, a team that felt hopelessly stuck in about 2008.

I don't expect us to be contenders. But I'm excited to see the talent that Bloom brings in with some of these inevitable trades. I'm excited to see who develops.

That's not going to please the "win now" crowd, but I much prefer watching young guys struggle and hopefully put something together than watching over the hill has beens/never weres show time and again that their fastball is long gone. And pay them mucho dinero to prove that time and again.

Because I have been watching the Cardinals since the late '50s. They are my team. In addition it is baseball. I don't need any other reasons.

Reason?

Because I love baseball, especially Cardinals baseball.

Having grown up during the 1970's this type of baseball isn't anything new, been there---seen that.

Hopefully C. Bloom (and a new Manager in 2027) can turn this around like Whitey who got us out of the 70's doldrums.

The same reason anyone follows a baseball team because they like and support that team if you don’t like and support them don’t watch them

We'll see how much Bloom is allowed to change. He's already setting the table for keeping Arenado, which either continues the current infield chaos or requires giving up on someone.

I think he and BDW will trade Nootbar and maybe Donavan, probably for a so-so starter (most likely a veteran) and some prospects. Other than that, I think BDW is in a holding pattern, waiting to see how the lockout works out, and in the short term, has not given up on his religious faith that the team could maybe possibly win 80+ games and squeak into the playoffs.

People seem to be expecting big changes, but I doubt that's what's coming. IMO the plan is to mostly stay the course with the ML team and have Bloom continue to tinker with the draft and development system.

I would've been shocked if Nado brought back anyone of substance anyway. I'd see it like the Fowler trade or the Leake one. Unless we eat the entire contract, which I don't see happening.

Ha! I watched Columbo for a while until I got tired of the villains getting dumber and dumber.

Because things are going to be done differently and it's about time. It will take some time, but to me they will be more interesting from day one. Enjoy the journey.

Well, I won't invest as much time into the current team, they are boring as all get out.

I've heard the term "runway" and the phrase "no pressure to win" too much for my liking.

I'll come back invested as a fan when those two words are no longer part of the narrative.

Given the response here on CT it would appear that BDW has a captured base and he has to do nothing to keep your eyeballs. Perhaps that’s part of the problem. Why spend money to keep fans if they’re going nowhere no matter the lethargy, ineptitude, and arrogance displayed by the ownership/FO
Braves have a bad season and their long time WS winning manager is out
Cards roll off another stinker….about same record as Braves…and their Oli stays, even though he is void of a Snitker pedigree

It's almost like Snitker had a way more talented team and had higher expectation than us yet they finished with a slightly worse W/L record.

Nah. That can't be it.

Sure, but one bad season after all that winning after being in the org for 40+yrs…….some owners want results and expect to win.
That isn’t the case here.
Why not just sweep the rug and get a clean slate…… Oli is a nobody and I’m sure he’s not making much money
