As long as he is employed by the Cardinals, too much.

Oli's salary is peanuts when viewing the overall picture. When Bloom trades Areando alone (even picking up a lot of Nado's salary), the remaining $$$ saved by sending Arenado away will easily pay all of Oli's salary . So Oli's paycheck for 2026 will be paid come Dec. when Arenado flies the coup.

2026? It will be way longer than that. There are a lot of nice role players on the roster and in AAA. Possibly 2 stars in Wetherholt and Soyle but it will take several years for them to develop and that still leaves them 3-4 elite superstars short. According to their own words they want to draft and develop them which means they have to draft them first. If the plan does not include spending to $200m to get back to their 11-12 standard the time frame is 6-8 years just to be WC or NLC contenders.

75 percent of teams in the top 15 made the playoffs...

I don't suppose they announced a slash in ticket prices?

And how many teams win without a generational talent or two?

When is the last time a Cardinal team won without one?

If Goldy and Arenado had come through in the playoffs, it might have been a different story. Both might be considered “generational” talents.

Arenado was a generational talent, at least defensively. Goldy was a great player, possibly HOF caliber, but I wouldn't call him generational.
