Anyone know what Mo was hinting at when he discussed Shildt's firing last week? Seemed like he was hinting, Shildt had done something that they had no choice but to fire him for.

I swear I heard Bernie say a few years back that shildt was screaming and demeaning people. Mo did say something in that interview that it was advised by legal to keep a lid on it.

I heard Mo make reference to the legal aspect. He also mentioned something about people who worked with and for Shildt having their own stories

Maybe Shildt asked the one prohibited question. "What exactly does Girsch do?"

Screamed for better coaches and players?

That's a no-no in Mozestan.

Are labor laws different in St. Louis? Screaming and demeaning doesn't seem like a legal reason to have to fire someone. Depending on how bad it was, it certainly could've been grounds for firing and something they thought they had to do for the sake on the organization. I'm just not sure how it would be a legal issue.

Oh and thanks so much for providing info. Really appreciate it.

Depends on what is meant by demeaning.

Lordy, stupidity of CT continues to worsen...

Missouri follows the Employment-At-Will doctrine. This means that both the employer and employee can terminate the employment relationship at any time and for any reason, as long as there is:

No employment contract being broken
No discrimination under civil rights laws (based on race, color, age, national origin, religion, ancestry, sex, or physical/mental disability)
No merit laws apply, or
The state’s limited public policy exception does not apply.

I’m shocked. But if I worked for Mo I would scream also. My guess is Mo is making this up. If Shildt had control issues he would not have been hired by another team. Also I never saw any indication players didn’t want to play for him. It’s just more Mo [nonsense] to cover his terrible decision.

Shildt was fired bc he believes in his heart and mind not always a spreadsheet.

He has a different approach to hitting, which has been highlighted in numerous articles.

The reason has been released many times over through the years.

Mo went out in the low character fashion he is as a man. Saying things like the city isn’t safe and that’s why the fans aren’t there is a joke. Same w the vague hint on Shildt.

I think Schildt was complicit in his firing. But I agree there was no reason for Mo to bring it up. The comment on the city wasn't necessary either. Just another example of the escalation of his cavalier personality the last several years.
