Good for him if true. He loves the game and sharing knowledge. And he has loads of knowledge. I loved the segments he would do on the MLB Network about hitting.

And that Pujols is a rumored top candidate for the job.

IF true, good for him, let him cut his teeth out West.

He might turn out to be a great manager, or not.

Might be a Cardinal managerial candidate in the future.

Best player I ever saw wear the Birds on the Bat

Guess he will come cheap since he is already being paid $1 million per year on his personal service contract.

You and I are usually on the same page but can't agree with this. Can't be worse than Marmy.

I dunno…the problem with hiring guys like Pujols and Molina is that you eventually have to fire guys like Pujols and Molina. I don’t know that these guys can manage (I’d lean Yadi more than Albert), and if we’re going down that route I’d rather be their second managerial stop than their first.

As for Marmol, it looks like Bloom is going to let him finish his contract. For a team with no playoff aspirations that’s probably fine. I’m pretty sure when this team is ready to win again it won’t be under Oli.

Problem with superior athletes is they have little patience with average talent a la Ted Williams. MLB came easy for Albert.

Good point. Wayne Gretzky was a terrible coach. Same for Magic Johnson.

So true. The winningest managers in MLB: Connie Mack, Tony La Russa, John McGraw, and Bobby Cox were not great players.
Joe Torre and Dusty Baker were very good players, but not HOF.
