Woo expects 2 of Donovan/Burly/Noot/Gorman to be dealt

On "Cardinals Territory" pod yesterday.

This what I've been saying for a few months needs to happen. Most to least likely imo: Gorman, Noot, Burly, Donovan.
I'd prefer it to be Gorman and Burly but I bet the team can't quit Burly in the most Brokeback Mountain way possible, so it'll be Gorman and Noot. I'll only be disappointed if Donovan gets dealt.

I’m looking at this from talent acquisition. Which two nets you a bigger return?
Donovan has to be this years Nado in regards to trades. He can bring back real value. Burley would be my second choice but Noot could maybe get something…. Maybe
Gorman had such a poor season I just don’t see him bringing back

Why on Earth would you or anyone for that matter want to retain Nootbaar.
That bum stayed healthy for the first time in his career, had the most PA of his career, and had the worst season of his career.
He sucks and I hope he’s the first one dealt.

Because Burly can get a lot more in trade, and Noot is more versatile. Also as much as he sucked this year he still had almost as good an OBP as Burleson.

Nootbaar just isn't MLB material...his average is dropping year after year, his power numbers are dropping, his on field decisions, especially on base, are sus...he's just NOT a good player and well past time to move on.
Donovan brings more back, but I think Walker is the that needs to go. "Light hitting" is a term usually given to SS, NOT a corner OF, usually to someone well under 6' and 200lbs, NOT someone NBA size. He's not going to be "that" player here, so move on.
For the second season in a row Burly has been the best Cards player on offense. He more than earned his spot here.
As for Gorman, he seems like what he is now is what he'll be his career...so if we have better options move on from him.

Obviously. IMO you should add Arenado to the list. If none of these 5 are traded, Bloom will have already failed in his 1st year as POBO.

Been said in here many times by a lot of posters too.
-I fully expect Donny to be gone as he's C. Bloom's best trade chip and brings back a solid return.
-Burly's trade value will never be higher but he could be kept if WillyC is dealt + Bloom's loves hitters w/his profile.
-Noot could well be dealt but he may also be kept since J. Walker HAS TO BE at Memphis all of 2026.
-Norman should be started at AAA too. But his future may be tied to 1) NADO if he's dealt and 2) Donny as well.
Some think JJW will play 3rd base but I see him more as a 2nd sacker.
One things for sure, this is going to be a fun Winter.
I hope Bloom goes all "Whitey/1980" and DFA's/trades as many of these players as he deems necessary.

I don’t care one iota about Nootbaar’s “versatility”. All that means is he can suck at multiple positions.
4 years as a corner OF and yet again fails to hit 15 HR or drive in 50.
Plus he’s a knucklehead and he’s starting to get paid.
The only guy who might need to be gone more than Nootbaar is Gorman.

The standards for corner OFers around here have dropped off a cliff.
Guess that's why this franchise hasn't had a decent one in forever.
This obsession with Nootbar is either willful ignorance or outright stupidity.
How many seasons does someone need?

I don't get the patience with Nootbaar at this point whatsoever. He got the PAs this year and proved he couldn't cut it as a starting corner OF. Too many of his swings are Little League level, and his base running is atrocious. Little power, low BA, OBP declining. Sub .700 OPS. Enough.

Who's obsessed? The only reason I prefer keeping Nootbaar is because Burly will get back more in trade. It's called being rational.

Unless another organization is convinced the Cardinals coaching screwed these guys up, they will get nothing for Noot or Gorman. May get nothing regardless.

Trade all 4 of them, and get psolid itching prospects.
Donovan will return the most
Burley next as far as return.
Nootbaar and Gorman just need to be gone, period.
If Contreas is dealt, you could keep Burleson at 1B, but he is NOT a competent MLB outfielder.
Wetherhold should play 2B, that's his best position.
As for the outfield, the bar was set so low in 2025, 3 stoned monkeys could equal that production.
Start Walker in Triple A next year.
