Saggese , a .255 hitter , batted 2nd in the inning and hit a single but the other 3 batters :

Gorman leads off the inning .. a .206 BA
Walker batting 3rd in inning had . 215 BA
and the season ended with Crooks a .176

Both Walker and Crooks had strikeouts .. Gorman flied out to CF
Cardinals can't compete with .206 , .215,and .176

Note: Crooks was limited playing time but Gorman and Walker hitting .206 & .215 respectively .. OMG !

Speaks volumes to how Mo failed and how cutting spending post covid on player development has crushed this team.

Are those (plus scott, church etc) really a failure of development or a failure of mis-drafting?

The inability to develop top level talent falls both on drafting and player development. It also falls on DeWitt ignoring the top of the international market and bargain shopping in it.

All of these guys hit well in the minors, but they all struggle when reaching the majors! Granted, the Majors are tough, but why is it almost all of our players struggled when getting there? It has to be an organizational thing! Also, let’s not forget the players who moved on and were successful somewhere else!
