There magic number is 1 after just defeating Brewers 7-4 . win and they're In tomoorow... Lose (and if Mets lose too ) and Reds are also IN.

Mets fans are probably thinking Brewers are getting their revenge against the Mets from Mets knocking them out of the wildcard series last year winning the rubber game of the three-game sereies in Milwaukee. (Remember Pete Alonso's HR in top of the 9th as Brewer could not close the game out ).

Sweeping the Brewers would be something new for the Reds. Maybe they will lose though but still back in .

I know a wildcard is supposed to be worthless and all, but I sure am jealous of all that meaningful baseball the Reds fans have gotten to experience lately. This whole month has had to feel like a playoff to them.

Sometimes a team like that gets battle hardened and becomes that team no one wants to face and makes a run. I might even root for them, which I normally wouldn’t do for a division rival, just to enjoy the “wildcard is useless” crowd’s excuse making if they win. I like a good underdog story anyway. Or maybe I’ll just root for the AL wildcard instead. That would be easier to stomach lol.

Go, Reds! I hope they make some noise. That Terry Francona must know what he's doing. Meanwhile, StL has the oli pud who would rather send stupid messages in a meaningless game. What a clown.

If the game was meaningless why did the Cubs steal 3rd with a 4 run lead?

There are 4 combinations today for Mets & Reds

A. Both Reds and Mets win ............ Reds are IN
B.. Reds win and Mets lose ........... Reds are IN
C. Reds lose and Mets lose ........... Reds are IN
D. Reds lose and Mets win .......... Reds are OUT (Mets IN)

As you can see, 3 of the 4 possible scenarios are in the Reds favor. Math says havReds have 75 % of qualifying for WC

Well it would be nice to see the Mets and their $340 million payroll bite the dust.

Two reasons: Swanson wanted to be a 20/20 man, and the cubs wanted to clinch the home field advantage for their upcoming playoff game with San Diego. A 4 run lead going into the 9th at Wiggley with the wind blowing out is not a sure thing.
