Try to establish a major starting pitching upgrade over 2025. He needs to come up with a couple starting pitchers that "miss bats" frequently.

so you're saying that your Roddery Munoz and Drew Rom predictions were a bit off? What about the Pallante is the RH version of Chris Carpenter?
Do you easily give up on "The Next John Tudor of the rotation; Rom will be the Ace of this rotation for years to come"??
I'm astonished... As the Weathervane Turns

My analysis.
Score more. Opponents score less.

He wanted to dump the light hitting Herrera who he said has no power and make sure the sub .700 ops power hitting Gorman is the middle of the order bat for years to come

If they sign any pitcher they will be similar to Lance Lynn and Kyle Gibson but players who are cheaper and will accept a 1 year deal without an option.
My guess is that the rotation will be Gray (unless he waives his NTC), McGreevy, Liberatore, Mathews and Leahy.

The team is rebuilding, not get ready to compete in 26. There will be no signing of a top of the line pitcher....in fact, Gray may be traded. They will make trades designed to gather future players who can help in 27 (assuming there is a season in 27) and beyond.

Bloom should “make moves” to “improve the team”. He should “get better starters” and better “bullpen guys” and “better hitters” too. Maybe “upgrade the coaching staff” too. He should “do his job”.

Herrera has exceeded expectation - including yours.
He also has 5 weeks of "power" in 4 seasons.
Don't fall victim to Carpenter Syndrome just yet.
Fine to be optimistic.
But not wise to jump too soon to potentially faulty projections.

The Cardinals do have a really nice core of hitters in Donovan, Herrera, Burleson, Winn and Contreras for Bloom to build on. And adding Wetherholt. He could use another productive hitter in the middle of the lineup..

I don't see anything about Taylor. Started at Memphis. Had some decent numbers. May not be in long term plans but might be a cheap starter if no trades are made
I don't know much about him

Short version.
Trade N/A and Moot simply to clear clutter.
Move other trade assets (who I have listed in detail previously) for 2 starting pitchers and a quality RH hitting corner outfielder - or sign a FA for one of those 3 spots if DeWitt allows and trade for the remaining 2.
Fire The Marmot and his staff - and replace with experienced competent leaders.
All can be accomplished in a single 30-day window without much difficulty.
Easy.
Obvious.
Correct.

Simple checklist for success:
1) acquire “young, cost-controlled TOTR starter” in exchange for a bag of balls.
2) acquire Bubba Chandler for Jordan Walker, straight-up.
3) acquire “young, cost-controlled MOTO bat” in exchange for one of the expensive veterans who have refused to waive their NTCs.
4) acquire elite closer to shore up bullpen.
5) hire still unnamed experienced, successful manager.
6) promote every “fine young prospect” in the Cardinals’ top 10 (because they’re always better than whoever is on the MLB roster).
Easy peasy.

You missed a few:
Preempt Burleson's arb years with a 10 yr, $490 million deal. Install him at 1B. Use Vulcan mind meld to convince Contreras to waive NTC to clear the way.
Give Saggese 2B and 9 yrs, $360 million.
Start Roby the second game in '26. Let Gray have the opener out of mercy.
