Congratulations to INF JJ Wetherholt on being named the Texas League's Most Valuable Player!

Wetherholt, 23, slashed .300/.425/.466 with 22 XBH, 34 RBI, 39 R & 14 SB in 62 games played before being promoted to Triple-A Memphis on July 7; leading the league in both OBP and OPS at that time.

He becomes the 4th consecutive #STLCards minor leaguer to earn Texas League MVP honors and the 7th overall.

Congratulations to LHP Ixan Henderson on being named Texas League Pitcher of the Year!

Henderson, 23, finished the year 9-7 with a 2.59 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, .210 BAA & 134 SO across 132.0 IP (25 GS); ranking among the Top 4 in all those categories, including 1st in ERA & BAA.

He becomes the 3rd #STLCards minor leaguer to be honored as the Texas League's top pitcher since 2005 and the 2nd in as many seasons.

Congratulations to Manager Patrick Anderson on being named Texas League Manager of the Year!

In his first season with Springfield, Anderson led the Cardinals to their winningest season in club history (88-50), finishing tied for the 4th-most wins in all of Minor League Baseball.

not everyone has the MLB package, nor took advantage of the 1 Farm System you could choose to watch.

Looks like Mendlinger is back at Springfield for the Championship. I guess he was at Memphis for such a short amount of time to justify sending him back. Only reason, other than a Wetherholt injury, that I can think of that they wouldn't bring JJ back, also.

3 Keys for Springfield's win tonight:

1. Don't let DeVries make contact. He's single-handedly won Midland 3 games in a row, including game 1 on Sunday.
2. Score more than 3 runs. The Junior Cards have scored 3 runs each playoff game, then shut down for the rest of the game. This makes comebacks rather tough, see the 3-6 loss on Sunday.
3. Use Ricrado Velez for Pete's Sake....he's been your best reliever all season, use him. As for the rest of the BP....WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Probably unwarranted, but I'm "Quinn Matthews 2024" level excited about Ixan Henderson. He seems legit.

something I do on for Peoria and Springfield...since I really like their broadcast team, I listen to their audio when they are on the road, and mute the Milb broadcast which is the Hometeam.

It's never synced up, but I find out much more about the Cards and Chiefs that way.
