Probably Ds for Gorman and Walker, And a B for Burleson. Maybe a B+ considering the expectations of the draft position.

Gorman a bomb, Walker a bomb. Burleson avg hitter at best. And this was imo his career year. No place on defense for him.. Lose em all.

Walker's an abomination. Gorman is still a head scratcher.

But Burleson is well above average.

"Burly I for incomplete". If issuing a grade for current development, why is his grade "incomplete"?

I did not go back and check this. But, I believe on the broadcast yesterday they stated if Burleson finishes with an 800 OPS, he will be the first Cardinal OF in 15 years to do so. That says two things. First, the Cards OF has been an obomination the last 15 years. Second, Burleson is better than an average hitter.

Development or production?

Burleson took some solid steps. On what I see as a correct path. Getting pitchers to come
a little more into his zone still needs to happen. An easy B.

Walker gets a F. He made some occasional signs of progress only to give them right back.
His balance improved but not consistently. Zero confidence. Zero production. Zero pitch
recognition. Needs a man with the cache of Albert Pujols in order progress IMO.
I replace him with Burleson or Herrera or Baez or anyone until impact.

Gorman, Maybe an "I", for some of the same reasons as Walker. Seems to get surprised
when in the box and then has a few good moments in approach.
a D is fair. C seems high, C-? . an "I" seems accurate to me.

Gorman and Walker grade poorly. Burleson {sigh} obviously grades much better. If using the Christmas Story scale he would rate an A++++. On the Spinal Tap scale he gets an 11 out of 10.

Takes more than one season to earn a grade. I’m tough grader.

Actually, Burleson a a pretty good season last year. Ex. 21 HRs and leading the team with 78 RBIs.

Going back to 2011, Holliday, Beltran, Berkman, Piscotty, Pham, Fowler, and O’Neil have put up an 800 ops as Cardinal outfielders.
I didn’t watch the game so I don’t know if there was any context to that statement.
And without a doubt, the current outfielders are disappointing to say the least.

Possibly has worse season this year in those categories.

A lot of people will be embarrassed when Walker, Gorman and Burleson lead the Cardinals to the world series this season.
