Quinn Mathew’s On TV Tonight

It’s the 4th inning, he’s currently walked 5 (I believe).
His body language is unbelievably bad.
I’ve never seen an MLB pitcher take the ball back from the catcher like he’s done tonight on so many occasions.
There’s no way to be ‘dialed’ and really locked in when you’re flinging your arms and legs like he has been doing.
I’m sure most of you haven’t tuned in tonight and I’m also guessing this won’t really be understood but whatever.
If I’m the minor league director or one of his coaches I’m showing him this body language and behavior is not anything close to MLB level and it’s not how to be your best.

I watched The Mighty Quinn the other day

The point for me is it’s September and this is his behavior on the mound.
I’m wondering about the culture of mentoring and teaching. I don’t get how you could watch this as the guy in charge of the minor leagues or baseball operations (JM) and not get the right people to sit him down and explain the correlation between that specific type of behavior and erratic and not optimal performance.
It was the most immature and bratty body language I’ve seen on a professional mound.
Like the way a guy would kick his leg or eye roll w his entire body in like a washed up men’s league. It was very odd to see

that's his body language every single game...going back to last year....probably how he acted in College. It's not a new development.
He's passionate and competitive on the mound.
I don't think it's an issue. It's a perfectionist reacting...that's it.
I like the fire he brings...he'll figure what ails him, and that's FB command.

Yeah I don’t think I alluded to it being a new development, saying it’s September and this shouldn’t be going on if he’s being coached well.
This wasn’t passionate and competitive body language.
This isn’t about fire.
This wasn’t about Max Scherzer or Chris Carpenter behavior.
This was sloppy and exaggerated
You can’t walk back to the mound and repeat mechanics as well when you’re rolling your eyes using your whole body as he was doing tonight.

It's impressive how many people don't understand what to do with an S on the end of someone's name.
