Why are they playing him in useless games?

To advertise him as healthy and hopefully productive.

Have to say his defense has been a joy to see after watching Gorman there. That double play he turned so casually by scooping then tagging the base and throwing simultaneously... wow. Trying not to take it for granted since it may be the last time I see him on my favorite team...

IF he can prove over these last 10 games that he still has something, maybe someone will take him in a trade this winter. Especially, if they can blame this poor season on his shoulder injury and prove it is fixed.

I am happy to see Arenado back. His defense is way better at third than anyone else currently on the team. I have not watched JJ. Maybe he will be ok at third but I would rather see Arenado out there than Gorman.

I have seen several people recently saying that the Cardinals should just release Arenado if they can't trade him. I personally enjoy watching him in the field even if he isn't the defensive wizard that he once was.

I enjoy watching him but I enjoy the roster flexibility more.

Anyone who has watched Gorman wave as balls fly past him welcome Arenado back. Nado appears to have lost his power but still hits for a better average. Until they have an adequate replacement Nado is the guy.

I get the need to look at Gorman, Saggese, etc but if Arenado doesn’t play at all I don’t see how you could possibly trade him?
The NTC makes it difficult enough.

I'd rather see either Donovan or JJ at 3B next year.

Dodgers -

IF Dodgers go for Tucker they could pass on Muncy option year with that money paying for Tuckers contract. Trade for NA with Cards paying most if not all his salary. Dodger pitching could be answer to Cards dire need.

Yeah, there’s only one Moe and he’s retiring after this year. Unlikely there are others who subscribe to his theory on valuing players.

I think it’s time for NA to focus on hitting for AVG and try to take a few more walks. Ditch the power swing, which isn’t working anyway and be more of a Skip Schumaker type of hitter. Skip LH obviously but I mean in approach.

He could at least get back to being valuable when factoring in his defense which is far superior than anyone on the team, even with some decline. Who knows, maybe a more relaxed approach will see him squaring it up more and he’ll run into a few HRs or be a big doubles guy.

When you decline there's no getting it back. Move on if possible.
