A rebuild shouldn't take more than 3-4 years. But that's assuming Bloom does his job and that BDW lets him.

We'll know right away whether they're serious, based on what they do with the coaching staff. If they stay the course on another year of Oli and his gang of losers, then 2026 will be another wasted season. There isn't a single reason for that to happen, but there wasn't a single reason to keep Mo last year.

There's no reason for them not to be competitive by 2028.

Too many resources if ownership wants to plug holes.

Except the Cubs have 200M+ more revenue to compete with. Sorry man this thing is broken and no owner cares about the product or the fans. 2024 Cubs had 584M in revenue and the Cards had 373M. No chance they should be able to compete consistently. But they may find a flash in the pan here or there.

Cubs have always had more financial capacity and the Cardinals still dominated the division so they have already proven they can do more than compete in the Central.

Milwaukee has even less resources and look at them.

Ownership lost focus once they broke ground on BPV..complacency and neglecting the reason people actually attend games.

Here's how I see it going down:

-The minor league system is already "re-built" with C. Bloom's player development system in place beginning in 2024.

-This Winter/Next season he'll start weeding out the dead-weight, and this team is LOADED w/dead-weight.

-Bloom will then accumulate as many prospects as he can during this offseason and again in 2026 via trades.

-He'll then hire "his" Manager after 2026 (sadly BDWJr will bring back Oli for 2026 knowing he's NOT going spend any money to improve the roster).

-Hopefully no lockout in 2027, that's the year Dewitt loosens the purse strings (back to a $175+M payroll) and let's Bloom add some impact players!

-"Re-build" should be complete by 2027 season (JMO).

I'll take just under, 4 years (by 2029).

Want to believe in contention for Central title in 28. Win title in 29. But then again, I want DimWallet gone along with his merry bad of incompetents - MO Ran, Marmot, Blake, et al.

I’d set the O/U at 3.5. I’d take the under.

Would I put $$$ on it? Not a chance.

In 30 days or less, I could make the Cardinals a 50/50 contender to win the division in 2026 - and 75/25 to gain a WC spot.
As could any competent leader.
Only 4 decisions need to be made and executed - each of which is rather easily accomplished.
So, with creating those 50/50 odds, STL could quite realistically win the division next year or the year following.
Not difficult at all.
Now, how long will it take Bloom to do so?
Too soon to say - but I should have a perfect analysis of him by the end of January.

Have lost the last three league championship series combined record of 4-12. More concerning. Most years without WS appearance is 18 years. We currently sit at 12.

Do we set a franchise record in years between WS passing 1946-1964.
