With Winn out for the rest of the season. Why not give Wetherholt some MLB experiece to help get him ready for '26?

Why? IMO, that is not a good move. Who wants him back (besides Moe)?

This move makes waaaaay too much sense for this leadership group.

But, to try and view it from their perspective, my guess is, after how pathetically their other top prospects have performed at the MLB level, they're concerned he'll come up and struggle, and that will make the pig they're trying to put lipstick on for 26 look so ugly that they won't be able to sell the new regime change as hope.

Wetherholt is pretty much the only ace they have up their sleeve at the moment.

I think you nailed it in your second paragraph. And frankly, if I were Bloom, I’d also hold JJ back. I’d rather he not be infected with the loser attitude of the current manager and players. The Cards have collectively waved the White Flag of Surrender for 2025 in these last few games, and I’d prefer JJ not be exposed to that.

The move make NO SENSE on any level. There are only a couple weeks left in the season and to play him, YOU HAVE TO PUT HIM ON THE 40 MAN ROSTER. This has been beat to death on both this site and the talks with Cards Reporter Gould. There are players in the minors that they do not want to expose to the rule 5 draft. JJ is not eligible for that draft and does not need to be protected. If you put him on the 40 man, someone has to come off the 40 man and is then able to be taken away.

That's been explained a couple hundred times lately. Maybe after 3 or 4 thousands times Shady will understand.

Great points and one of many reasons to wait until
ST to introduce him.
JJ is an elite prospect who has excelled at every level.
This last two weeks means nothing. ST will give him plenty of time to acclimate to his new teammates.
Bringing him up because certain fans are bored is lame.

I actually thought it was an alright idea, given the rest of this season really doesn't matter.

You have posed this ridiculous idea in multiple threads under multiple identities.
The answer is always the same.
It is a supremely dumb idea that has been completely hashed out and is unworthy of a serious response.
Like you.
