As poor as this season has been

I'll miss baseball when it's over. Looking forward to February when pitchers and catchers report. No looking forward to the winter between now and then.

This will be the first off season in awhile that I won’t be disappointed!
I’ve always thought, before, that they would make moves to improve the team ,
I have no illusions this time that will do so. I fully expect them to get rid of players and add nothing in return that will improve the 2026 team.

Yea I agree I generally watch the old cardinals games on you tube in the off season. I am actually looking forward to a no Mo offseason though just to see the steps bloom will take to fix the mess mo has left him

Likewise!
I adjust my expectations as the season progresses and the hope in May basically fell apart.
That being said...I am an optimist and looking forward to Bloom taking over.
As for the balance of 2025 I hope:
No serious injuries that impact 2026!
Bloom learns what he needs to know heading into the offseason.

Not I, I'm more than ready for football when fall hits.

It's just shocking how far Moleziak and Oli were able to run this organization into the ground and how quickly they managed to do it.

As recent as 2022, when they appointed Oli at the helm, they had a top-5 franchise in all of MLB and probably top 20 in the Big 4 sports.

And look how much destruction the dynamic duo has wrought in less than 4 years.

Ownership is mostly to blame. These two are employed at ownership’s pleasure. The buck stops at II’s desk.

This is one of the more irrelevant seasons I can remember in a long time. No marquee players, minimal youth optism, boring baseball, and also minimal creativity with the offense. By seeing the crowds, or lack of, at the games, I'm not alone. I guess I'll be a Brewer fan once the playoffs begin. Would love to see them go on a lengthy run to show the Cardinal brass how a small market team can be successful in today's MLB economics challenge.

What i look forward to now? The winter meetings and to see what Bloom has in mind for the face lift.

They won't need a large venue for January's Winter WarmUp. A small conference room will suffice.

Ditto SM

I hate these are the final games.

BUT

I think this could be an active Winter w/C. Bloom now in charge.

I'm excited to see who he DFA's and deals this offseason.

I agree.

Though I will say this. I love going into September when the team at least an arm's reach from a playoff spot. Every win counts. Scoreboard watching. It's fun. But it's not as fun when the team continues to start guys like Pallante. It tells me the organization is fine with just riding out the season. Which kills my enthusiasm.

So I will miss baseball, but I look forward to a Bloom offseason.

That's exciting enough I think. The team we see coming into spring training will tell us a lot about what Bloom considers to be the future core of this club. Will Arenado be here (he sure doesn't need to be here). Nootbaar? Will he go further and trade a Donovan or Burleson? It goes back to that Timeless discussion about who is "untouchable." The list presumably starts with Winn, Wetherholt, Doyle... Mathews... and then after that you can make a case for anyone else based on what the scope of the "core" is, and how far away Bloom considers the next consistent contending Cardinal team to be (2027? 2028?).

I hope they plan on contending soon, because we've seen teams pull off a rebuild or retool quicker and quicker. It doesn't need to be a 5 year process. For us, putting it together quicker may indeed mean trading from a strength (a position player) to get more pitching, but I think that type of move would come sometime after the start of the 2026 season or the off-season after.

The blues fired the only coach who won the Stanley Cup. They are done.

No chance SM, they're loaded and ready for another Cup run over the next few seasons.

I was a huge fan of The Chief but they now have Monty who's a brilliant coach!

LGB's! :D
