It would take The d backs reds giants and Mets players and their tripple A teams to all die in crashes. Possibly their AA teams players to also die and their major league teams rosters forced to be manned by their A ball players. Then the cardinals may have a chance

My post wasn't asking what would it take the Cardinals. I was asking what will it take to get in. Clearly that boat sailed long ago.

Those are obvious. But it’s not the over arching issue. Building a team environment. That is so very hard to do- the daily attitudes and actions of 26 type A guys.

The performance level between STL and LA is minimal. Adding won’t win. It’s the mental structure of the org.

And. It’s all based on a particular leadership style. Some work. Some don’t.
