Liberatore is 24 runs below average so far in his career.
Arozarena is 63 runs above average so far in his career.
What is 87 runs if you aren't really trying to win?

Randy: produced the entirety of the Arenado / Goldie window while remaining cost controlled. And heck, we could’ve traded him at the end of his tenure and gotten a prospect.
Nah. Mo needed to trade him in 2019 to MAKE SURE we had a pitcher w #4 starter stuff in 2025.

All you have to do to understand that trade is watch a game of the Cuban national baseball team. They have bands in the stands, lots of noise, energy and hot dogging / showing off. That history put Randy on BDW’s radar screen (not in a good way) before he ever reached STL. Sharing that video of Shildt sealed the deal.
