If he had went to a good pitcher I wouldn’t have a problem with the move even if they gave up the same runs but going to gas can graceffo was boss level dumb. If it was that choice just ride with MM

2-0 game and walks lead off batter. Should have been pulled then. Little league pitcher was left in by little league coach. And the losers lose again. Weird.

The bad pitcher or the bad journalist?

Yesterday I had a few arguing with over Marmol's bullpen management. Not going to refight that argument here, but last night shows how the first bad decision ripples throughout the game, and into the follwing games (rest, availability, etc.).

Ollie and his paint-by-numbers pitching philosophy needs to go.

And just how could he have handled it differently? Svanson, Romero and O’Brien were most likely unavailable. That meant having to save Leahy for later. While you had gotten 5 solid innings out of Mikolas, he escaped in the 4th and 5th. As shown WAY too many times, when Mikolas goes, he goes quickly.

So, who DO you go to? Graceffo? Fernandez? Roycroft? Remember, a big part of this season is giving guys like them opportunities. Didn’t really matter who he went to, Rollie Fingers wasn’t coming in.
