You could argue he’s a good manager but MOTY votes is laughable.

lol manager of the year for having a mediocre team at .500? That would be nuts. If that’s the case Francona should get MOY votes for having the reds at .500

Face it, we've got some bad players on this squad and for this team to be playing .500 ball is amazing. No votes, but I think he's done a credible job.

It was going to be around a .500 team before the season started it’s around a .500 team. They won 83 games last season and did nothing bringing back pretty much the same team so you could expect around .500 again. I don’t know why people are shocked that a mediocre team finishes around .500 it’s to be expected. They were never going to be bad they were never going to be good mos philosophy of sustained mediocrity worked again

The majority of the team members have performed well below expectations.
The manager has completely failed in the stated #1 objective of young player development and has terribly botched playing time opportunities.
The team is 4th in a 5-team division.
The team in 10th in a 15-team league.
In no sane universe is that worthy of a single manager-of-the-year vote.
It does, however, call for one pink slip.

People are shocked because most complainers act like it's not a mediocre team, but a terrible team on the low end of the league. I think its amazing that this team is .500. with the horrific starting pitching and lack of speed and power on offense. On the plus side, they play good defense, pitch well out of the bullpen, and never give up coming back many times this year. These are indications that the field leadership is actually doung a good job with limited resources. Again many on here think Oli and Dusty Blake are terrible. The fact the team is mediocre is on the front office that put this mismatched group of players together. Not on the field staff who I think have again over achieved.

Joe Girardi won with a sub 500 team.

Well said.
Will add....never should have been here this year to begin with.
