Why? You can already put up an L for tonight. The guy is toast! I'd rather see a bullpen start than see him start another game this year.

Just riding out the season. They haven't prioritized winning in three years. Any team serious about competing wouldn't:

1. Extend Marmol and remove pressure to win.
2. Trot out a rotation of Fedde, Mikolas, and Pallante.
3. Use Roycroft, Fernandez, or any of these other no-names.
4. Keep Mozeliak in charge of anything.

BARF

This guy CANNOT be in the 2026 rotation.

Why waste another season on yet another player who's JAG? ::crazya::

He needs to be traded or non-tendered so he doesn't get another chance due to inertia

He's 1-8 with 7.42 ERA in the 2nd half.

Insanity is trying the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Eventually rolling a better result only works if your baseline talent is far above your recent suck-age.

Someone like Alcantra might regain their form after 3 months of a 9 ERA. Wainwright did regain his form. But those are CY caliber talents - also with the brains to reinvent themselves. Pal isn't.

Please, tell us who should be starting in his place...

He has no trade value carp.

I hope Bloom just DFA's him along w/a lot of other's who have business being on this team in 2026.

Thats the problem
There is no one on the 40 man roster
Bloom has to address this in the off season
Mikalos is gone
We need one stater if you leave what you had this year
Pallante needs to go back to the pen probably

Probably. But I’d rather see graceffo and give Pallante and mental break.

Spot on. And trot out a line up of kids that can’t do anything at this level.

I wonder if some of these young players would perform better in other organizations? Its no secret the Cardinals farm system has been behind for a while.
