possibly you're reading way too much into this?

Not only is Willy serving the suspension, you have Burley on the IL. 3rd option playing 1B out of necessity. Not some cryptic move by the Organization

It could happen, indeed. Herrera and Winn should probably be switched in tonite's lineup.

if Burly were not on IL, he certainly would be at 1b tonight (where he is pretty good IMO)

Whether it’s his future position or not I don’t know but as far back as the series in San Diego Gorman was getting work in at first base during pregame- they certainly didn’t know at that time that both Burly and WC would be out of the lineup on 9/5 - some sort of intent behind his pregame work.

JJW is going to be at 2nd base on OD in 2026, not 3rd base.

But yes, once WillyC is gone either via trade or contract expiration, we could see Norman at 1st base if he's still here and has become a more consistent offensive weapon.
