The Mets may have to DFA him for their own good. He is useless. And I don't think it's a stretch to say that he may be looking at a $1 or $2 million prove it deal for next year.

Actually, it's not. If this doesn't turn around, Mets GM will say "we owe him one" because of the Helsley deal, and will likely impact future deals with their organization.

Not saying Bloom will rollover on a future deal because of this, but that's just how it works.

He throws the most hittable straight 100mph in MLB history, it’s straight as a string with overhand delivery, and he can’t locate it on edges, up or down, in or away. He just throws it.

His slider is his out pitch, but when he has to throw it for strikes it gets pummeled.

Could've been more if they moved him when they were supposed to in the OS. He was a top 2 closer after 2024

I haven't played baseball for decades, but back when I did play, it was much harder to make a fast pitch break than a slower pitch. That's just a rule. Like physics.

So is it even possible to bend a 100 MPH fastball?

+1 mo was dumb and didn’t want to
Trade him because he thought he had built a contender. Woo even said other baseball executives were surprised he didn’t want to trade him in the offseason

Yup, his inability to locate his fastball has plagued him all season. A bit surprised it's gotten this bad, though. It's not like he changed leagues or anything. He's seeing all the same hitters.

I think it just finally caught up to him he was giving up runners with the cardinals they were torching his fastball but he was managing to get by out of trouble with his slider but most cant be a one pitch pitcher forever and it’s finally caught up to him
