So this is wild to me but it seems like Framber valdez might have purposefully crossed up his catcher Salazar.
After allowing a homerun when salazar was trying to call valdez to step off mound but he putched anyway, valdez then fires a fastball down center while salazar is obviously expecting a breaking ball by his reaction
But whats crazy is valdez then turns away from mound looking angry and seemingly trying to avoid eye contact with his catcher.
Accidental crossups happen but ive never seen a pitch misommunication where the pitcher then wasnt immediately running to apologize to catcher or check on him. Or just rush to figure out what happened and where miscommunication was.
But valdez doesnt seem interested and purposefully avoiding his catcher making it look intentional. Salazar almost looks like he recognizes the intent too.
Both valdez and salazar were called into the managers office after the game too where valdez supposedly apologized but said it wasnt intentional. https://athlonsports.com/mlb/houston-as ... nkees-game
