He gets some negative press on here, but I think as a tandem or backup C for the 2026 team to start the season wouldn't be a bad choice for the team. Hoping Bernal at some point next season makes it to the show, but at least till then, starting the season with Pages and Crooks would look to be adequate imo.
Love Pozo and his story, and think he would have some value as an additional piece in a trade. A month ago, I might have preferred him over Pages, and granted, if it's Pages getting moved instead of Pozo, ok, the Cards should have a much better feel for that than I do, but it's pretty obvious that at the least Marmol prefers Pages, but I'd guess that's the dominant consensus among other members of the Cards FO.

If POZO loses some weight, he could be the man.
What about the electronic strike zone and framing pitches?
Isn't that Pages specialty.
He may lose that advantage.

Pages framing and pitcher whisperer [nonsense] are vastly overrated on here. He’s JAG.

Trade Crooks if you can get pitching in return. Start the season with Pages and Pozo in STL and Bernal in Memphis. Hopefully by mid-season Bernal forces the issue and you can trade one of the two catchers and call him up. I'm not at all mad if they keep Crooks and pair him with Pages. We just have too many catchers and too many left handed hitters. The Cardinals have made it a practice to trade players at low value. I'm trying to stay away from that. Crooks has good value now.

No way. Left-handed hitting catchers with some pop are so difficult to find.

That’s the entire point. He’s fine as a backup. Close
To 400 at bats is a Joke. I’d rather have Willson catch and Burleson play first.

Bernal is a switch hitter. He can be our left handed hitting catcher with pop.

Willson won't be catching anymore.

Yes. Just saying I would prefer that to pages getting 400 at bats

I trade one of Pages or Pozo before Crooks, they would be a perfect LH/RH tandem whoever ends up partnering with Crooks.
Bernal will be on the doorstep with Rodriguez ready in2-4 years

He's more productive than Ivan and actually plays a defensive position fairly well

That’s a dumb thing to say.

Just because PP had a monster August doesn’t mean he’s better than Ivan.

Look at HR's and RBI's and # of ABs...if you are down on Pages, who can actually catch, you have to be upset with Ivan too...and he hits in a run producers slot in the lineup 8O

For the season (bleep). Look at AB's, RBI's and HR's. Pages can actually catch...doesn't hit at a run producing spot in the lineup.
