Cardinals now 10 -17 in Pallante starts

Why is he still getting the ball every fifth game?
How has he not been demoted to either the pen', Memphis or DFA'd?
He's NOT a runway pitcher, the Cardinals know who he is and what he can't do and that's be a starter in MLB.
No more Pallante!

Just makes you shake your head that Pallante is still run out there every fifth day. I don’t want to hear about eating innings either. What good are the innings if they are stressful, non productive innings. Anybody could give us what Pallante gives us.

Who do you call up?

After Pallante's last start, Marmol at least seemed to indicate he needed to have a talk with him about a change in direction. He basically said he wanted to share this change with Pallante before he shared it with the media.
Well, there was no change and seems like the self-described straight shooter was just deflecting.

So true. This innings-eater nonsense got us another unproductive year of Mikolas. Several options existed throughout this season, such as stretching out Leahy or Graceffo or even calling up a vet like Wilkerson.

I'd rather they not expose a guy like Mathews to this team and its injury depleted defense. Let Pallante and Mikolas play out the string and hope you get five in their starts. Or they could let Svanson open one of Pallante's four remaining turns.

They've only got 4 weeks to get bad enough to be part of the draft lottery. Calls for lots of Pallante and Mikolas starts.

Just chance his name to Patras. (Pallante sounds like forward in slang Spanish. Patras is backward)

Agree, they are in a bit of a tough spot finishing out September:
If a serious playoff contender.....and by “serious” I mean having any hope of making a postseason run if they earn a Wild Card....Mikolas and Pallante would be out of the rotation.
As it is...they seem to clearly be in evaluation mode for 2026.
The rotation will have Gray and probably Libby/McGreevy depending on how they finish.
How does Pallante finish? Maybe they have picked up a mechanics flaw? Who knows?
Mathews and some others will get a good look in ST.
I expect a trade and/or a veteran FA signing.
I have to trust that they know what is best for the pitchers in the Minors?

Graceffo is already here. He started most of his career in the minors. I’m sure there are better answers that have various pros and cons like Matthews which I would be fine with. but Graceffo is an obvious choice with the least resistance.

Taylor is 30 is it gonna hurt his development? , Matthews, Weiss, Cornwell, Munoz, Mosqueda? Why are they stuck behind Pallante at this point?
Let me ask you this. Do you continue to send Pallante out every rotation and mandate that he go at least 5 no matter how bad he does?

Nope. I just wanted to hear who people would like to call up. I agree Pallante sucks, but pissing and moaning about it without who should take his place was my only question.
We can cry all we want but we should offer solutions

Why don’t we just forfeit games he’s s scheduled to start, and save the bullpen arms. Result would be the same, and guys could get an extra day off
