He got off pretty light in my opinion, he appealed it and will probably get it down to 4 or 5 games, Does he loses salary for those days?

For what it’s worth I don’t see the Cards having much of a chance of catching the Mets.
Also have to catch Reds and very bad timing to get suspended with huge 3 game series this weekend.
Lack of control.
You can throw a temper tantrum but NOT your bat!

YES, a player suspended does lose his salary for the games missed .
Since the 6 game suspension is being appealed,Contreras is allowed to play until a final ruling is made. (oftrn the league will reduce the number of games by s game or two)

In Contreras. A monetary fine was also given but undisclosed by the MLB. Those fines go to a charity not mlb pockets.

Contreras is making $18 million this season, so every game of the suspension will cost him $111,111 in lost pay.

6 games, he'll actually serve 4. That seems about right. It was quite a hissy fit. If there were more excitement like that, maybe more fans would come out.

Agree and Cardinals don't need player like him,
ESPN reported Contreras said “call the pitches on both sides because you’re missing for us’. That hits at the umpire’s integrity and impartiality. Not surprised he got ejected.

Players are not paid while serving a suspension.

That may have been said but when Oli came out to the home plate ump asking why he ejected him , video clearly shows the HO ump Saying ‘he told me to f…. off ! It was at that moment that Contreras went ballistic.

It is too bad that the Cardinals are unable to void Contreras' contract based on his assault on Brant Brown.

LOL he’s virtually their only hitter. Seems like pattycakes would be more your speed.

Did you say [shirt] like this when Gibson stormed the opposing dugout, throwing punches?

"he’s virtually their only hitter". Screwball, evidently, you've been blind to Burleson's hitting, lately.

Do you know what the word “virtually” means?
