Fans hearing Bloom’s plan and direction will be a breath of fresh air.
While you will never get 100% of fanbase agreeing with everything he proposes to do to right the ship, at least all the fans will be aware of his plan.

We’re certainly seeing teams buying out players’ arbitration years become a trend around the industry, but I think it’s far too early to tell if the Cardinals will do that. I don’t think we’ll see that this offseason, though, just based on conversations where payroll is heading next year.

St. Louis has not had substantial extension talks with any of its players.

Gray is owed $35 million in 2026, the final season of his three-year deal (not including a $30 million club option for 2027). That is a lot of money to pay for one pitcher when the team isn’t exactly planning to be competitive next year.
