Wetherholt starts off the 3rd with a double in the R/CF gap! He was stranded there as Sale got the next three out on a K, a FO to RF, and a comebacker.

Still 1-0 at Memphis, Curtis Taylor has stymied the Stripers on 1 hit thru 5 IP. The Redbirds only have 4 hits, 2 by Wetherholt.
Sale gets the first two out in the bottom 5th, but is removed due to pitch limit. He finishes with 5 K's, no walks.
JJ Wetherholt now faces RH Connor Seabold with 2 out, and takes a walk on 5 pitches.

Interesting fact about Memphis position players on current roster - 10 of 12 are LH batters!
The Redbirds are wearing the strangest looking jerseys I have ever seen on a baseball field tonight. Some kind of Harry Potter night so they have these maroon and gold striped scarf looking things on the jerseys. Could Mo have designed these things??

Release MIkolas and give Taylor a tryout for the rest of this season?

Gwinnett takes the lead with 2 unearned runs off Taylor. Error on 3B Collins to start the inning, and then two hits including one bloop. Taylor gets the third out on strikeout.

Wetherholt starts the 7th with a ringing double off the wall. He's now 3 for 3 with 2 doubles, a single, and a walk.

Torres sacrifices Wetherholt to third with a bunt, and then Blaze Jordan brings in the tying run with a grounder to 1B which Wetherholt beat the throw home.

I watched a few innings, and it was like watching the Cardinals - boring. Especially when the bases were loaded on walks and they couldn't score. It is also difficult for an announcer to work by himself.

Sure enjoyed watching Wetherholt. Didn’t you, Red?
