Duce - It's crazy that the Cards' pitching prospects who are doing well are predominantly lefties:

Doyle - (#2 prospect) TBD
Matthews - (#5 prospect) - 3/5 W/L; 3.60 ERA; 1.52 WHIP and 92 Ks in 75 IP
Ixan Henderson (#15 prospect) - 9/5; 2.31 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 103 Ks in 89 IP
Brycen Mautz - (#21 prospect) - 6/2 ; 2.92 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 121 Ks in 113 IP.
Braden Davis - (#23 prospect) - 4/1; 2.65 ERA; 1.21 WHIP and 136 Ks in 98 IP but 66 BB
Cooper Hjerpe - (#13) - 3.27 ERA before TJ

Then there's RHPs Roby (#8 prospect) and Hence (#12 prospect) - both injury bug guys.
Poor (#16) Chen-Wei Lin is struggling. Tanner Franklin is a wild card.

pretty much stepping down/away. I won't be around, too much traveling. After June, I'll have about a 6 week window where we'll be home. So maybe? I'll be here for the Draft, but that wasn't on purpose

yeah, there was a shift, in 2021 to start drafting Control pitchers....so you got McGreevy, Granillo, Graceffo, Love, Mills, etc.

then in 2022 we were lacking LHP...throughout the entire system, with the exception of Libby and Thompson, but they fell apart in AAA after the Pandemic. So panic mode set in....2022 brought us Hjerpe, Hansen, Mautz. Then Mathews and Henderson the following year, then Davis the year after. Now we get the Power Lefty in Doyle. The evolution from Control, to Control LHP, to Swing and Miss with Davis and Doyle...quite the journey over 5 years

Palm Beach 0, St. Lucie 0 ; Bot 1st

Andrew Dutkanych IV ~ 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K ...12 pitches, 6 strikes....4 pitch walk to start the game, gets him 2 batters later with a nice pick off move. Strike out with a surprising riding fastball up over the zone, but you can't lay off it.

Mathew Miura takes the mound

Crav, thanks for your reply to my question yesterday. I pretty much agree with your assessment. I hope Matthew’s is healthy next year, I’m not sure he’s 100% right now. I like Ixan a lot, and I’m really hopeful that Mautz and Hansen turn a corner, similar to what McGreevy has done, and both of them become strong middle of the rotation arms!
