there's a name from the past !

got his first win today since 2023, beating the Blue Jays 2-1

5 innings
2 hits
6 SO
1 BB
1ER (one of the two hits was a solo HR)

good for him

Watched the game. Pitched well. Let's see how he does next. In St Louis he would have a Great game then stink the next time out

Let's not forget that his first outing was 1 IP, 3BB, 2 H, 2ER, and 3Ks.
I was happy he was traded (he and Malcom Nunez for Quintana and Stratton). He has a career 13-25 W/L, 1.408 WHIP and 4.36 ERA (before today).
He's amazingly still only 27.

I admit I thought we would all regret that trade and he’d be a number two somewhere for a long time. Guess I was wrong on that .

I figured he could be at least a #3.. he's got a better arm than he's showing. not sure what the problem is? control? health? head full of rocks?

First major league starts returning from Tommy John surgery (December 2023) and he suffered a lat injury in spring training that set him back.

Pretty harsh assessment on a guy who is less than 35 IP (6 major league innings) into his return from major injury.

Pretty solid first full season as a starter in 2023 with upside.

The guy has better stuff and upside than Pallante and McGreevy. If he will maximize it is another question.
