Reluctantly I must give Mo credit for getting Svanson for DeJong and cash. Nice move!

I did - I said at the time of the deal he was exactly the type of arm they should be targeting and that he had a high likelihood of being a high leverage / back of the bullpen guy. Should be a candidate to close in 2026.

Nothing wrong with Romero

If i remember correctly, he had great numbers at the time but was only at A+ ball. A lot can happen between there and majors but he progressed quite nicely.

Throw enough darts and eventually one will hit the target

and that is why you throw darts trading guys on expiring contracts --

Good thing about signing bullpen arms. If you get one on a heater for a season you can flip em.

A good team will have more than 1 to who can close. Plus, I’d test which one can go innings without going on the DL

Right now he and Romero look like options for closer. If they continue to work out that will definitely help bull pen rebuild for 2026. Still need arms but it would be nice to go into the year with confidence in a closer.
