Locking up players to extensions has been the Cardinal downfall in recent years.

Winn for me. Not doing that for JJ until I see him in the big league for a while. I might be tempted to do that with Walker also.

It's hard for me to think about locking up players right now. It depends a lot on what they actually commit to this off season. But Winn is the logical choice. Nobody else on this team at the present time.

No need to lock anyone up contractually, at this point.

Winn has had back issues and a barking knee. Could end up with Tommy John too...

Are you not aware he has had back issues? Have you not seen where he was saying his knee is barking?

All this at age 23. SS can take its toll and if he continues making max throws, Tommy John could also rear it's head

Buying out a couple years free agency of a younger player can be a wise move .

I know he's had some back and knee issues, but not so bad he hasn't been able to play thru them for the most part. where is the TJ coming from? have heard nothing about arm issues

Has he had back issues? Did he say his knee is barking? Can constant max throws from your SS, end up with possible Tommy John?

Has his hitting gotten better this year or declined? Is he a base stealer?

if he is worthy of being locked up, convincing him to be locked up in st louis
